Cities Pune: Ganesh mandals protest against Metro work over Lakdi Pul

Ganesh mandals in the city have had a problem with the continuous development of the raised Pune Metro course over Sambhaji Bridge, famously known as Lakdi Pul, close to Deccan. The mandals say that the stature of an arranged Metro viaduct is low to the point that it will obstruct the method of Ganesh mandal adornments and cause issues during drenching.

The Maharashtra Metro Rail Corporation Ltd (Maha-Metro), which is executing the Pune Metro rail project, is by and by chipping away at the two passageways — raised course of Vanaz to Ramwadi and Pimpri-Chinchwad to Swargate, which is generally raised and somewhat underground.

On the Vanaz to Ramwadi hallway, it has finished the greater part of the work on a stretch from Vanaz to Garware school and is holding preliminary attempts of the Metro rail.

The work from Garware College to Ramwadi is in progress and the raised course going through the Mutha stream needs to get over the Lakdi Pul. The Maha-Metro is presently accomplishing preliminary work to introduce a 50-meter-long brace over Lakdi Pul on the raised Metro rail course.
