Delhi : Punjab Congress crisis: Day after Rahul Gandhi denied meeting, Sidhu meets Priyanka Gandhi

A DAY after AICC pioneer Rahul Gandhi had said that no gathering was booked with Congress pioneer Navjot Singh Sidhu, the last met AICC pioneer Priyanka Gandhi on Wednesday morning.

Sources near Sidhu said that he had met Priyanka Gandhi for three hours. Sidhu tweeted his image with Priyanka with a subtitle : ‘Had a long gathering with Priyanka Gandhi.’

A source near Sidhu said that Priyanka had left in the center of the gathering to meet Rahul Gandhi and returned and joined Sidhu.

We don’t have the foggiest idea what conversations have occurred. He has been inside for three hours since morning. We just saw Priyanka leaving and returning ,” said a source.

He said that Sidhu may meet Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday.

Sidhu’s group had on Monday told the media that he would meet Rahul and Priyanka on Tuesday. He had left his Patiala home on Tuesday morning. Yet, no gathering occurred the whole day. Rahul told the media that there was “no gathering with Sidhu.”

Sidhu’s gathering with Gandhis is viewed as critical in Congress circles as the gathering central leadership is chipping away at arranging an emergency in the state unit of the gathering. The gathering is being accepted to have a direction on his destiny in the Congress.

He has raised a pennant of rebel against the Chief Minister Amarinder Singh and has been hitting out at him on Twitter.
