Isro News : Maharashtra youth is first from state to get selected as scientist

Somnath hails from Sarkoli town in Pandharpur Tehsil of Solapur locale in Maharashtra.

On June 2, Somnath was chosen as a senior researcher at Vikram Sarabhai Space Center in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala.

Addressing India Today TV, Somnath said, “As of late, I found a new line of work as a senior researcher in Isro. I have finished Btech in mechanical designing and seeking after mechanical plan from IIT, Delhi. I applied for Isro in 2016, however I couldn’t clear my composed tests then, at that point. In 2019, based on my MTech degree, I went after this Isro position. I got chosen on June 2, 2021 as a senior researcher.”



From being an understudy at a town school to turning into a researcher at Isro, Somanath’s excursion has been brimming with battle and difficulties.

Having a place with an oppressed part of society, Somnath’s folks and sibling filled in as ranchers and even as workers to support Somnath’s investigation. Somnath took affirmation in Class 11 at the KBP College in Pandharpur subsequent to finishing his Class 7 examinations from Zilla Parishad Primary School and Class 10 from an optional school in his town.

He was chosen as mechanical fashioner at the Indian Institutes of Technology (IIT) Delhi, getting 916th position in GATE test.

It was at IIT that Somnath was offered a chance to deal with an airplane motor plan. Somnath was at last chosen as a senior researcher with Isro on June 2.
