National: Dinkar Gupta is appointed Director General, NIA

The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) named previous Punjab Director General of Police (DGP) Dinkar Gupta as the Director General of the National Investigation Agency (NIA).

In another request, the Intelligence Bureau’s (IB) Special Director Swagat Das has been delegated as Special Secretary, Internal Security, Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA). Mr. Das, a 1987 clump IPS official of the Chhattisgarh framework will hold the post till November 30, 2024, the request said.

Mr. Das was the senior-most official in the inward knowledge organization after Director, Intelligence Bureau, Arvinda Kumar. Mr. Kumar’s drawn out residency is set to end on June 30.
