Congress MP Jairam Ramesh has blamed the BJP-drove Manipur government for making deficiency of urea in the state by redirecting it to the slope regions where poppy is developed for opium.
The previous Union clergyman’s response comes in the wake of developing grievances from ranchers against the deficiency of urea.

“BJP’s Vikas in Manipur. Manipur is getting double the stock of urea it needs but then ranchers whine of deficiency! Why? Since urea is redirected to slope region in Manipur, where poppy is being developed for opium in huge regions in most recent 4 years. The state govt is completely complicit in this (sic.)”, tweeted the senior Congress pioneer, who is likewise the political race spectator of Manipur.
Jairam Ramesh left Imphal on Tuesday subsequent to setting up camp for five days to talk about political race methodologies. Manipur Assembly political race is expected to be held in 2022.
It is relevant to take note of that, LOUSAL, an affiliation shaped by ranchers, requested a test into the supposed urea deficiency facing the Manipur government by framing a House request panel.
Mutum Churamani, leader of LOUSAL, said Manipur has been confronting a lack of urea consistently regardless of the way that it is getting a bigger number of amounts of urea than the real prerequisite. While the absolute urea prerequisite is 2,41,000 sacks, the Center had apportioned 4,40,000 packs of urea for Manipur with an overabundance of 1,97,000 sacks, said Churamani.
Against this scenery, Manipur Agriculture Minister O Lukhoi, in the as of late closed Assembly meeting of Manipur, had explained that there is no shortage of urea in the state.
The pastor stated the troubles being looked by the ranchers was because of the reception of Point of Sale (POS). According to the Government rules and rules set somewhere around the Point of Sale (POS) entry, records like Aadhaar card, land patta, value worth of land, among others, are needed for gaining admittance to manures by the ranchers, the priest said.
Procuring manures by signing in through the Point of Sale (POS) entryway is to be sure a tedious exercise that can’t be stayed away from on an easy route premise, and this conventional interaction makes issues for the ranchers, he clarified.
