The cleaning of the general water channel in the municipality of San Juan Epatlán was carried out, an activity that was possible through coordination between the City Council, agro-industrial companies and the Local Water Board.
It is an annual work, with the intention that the crops of the municipality produce correctly, it allows to irrigate liquid to the fields of the municipal seat, little more than 2 thousand hectares of planting.
The works carried out consisted of cleaning with a machete to cut brush on the canal, and on its shore, in addition to removing mud, stones and garbage. The use of heavy machinery was not necessary, since the frequency of cleaning prevents a lot of waste from accumulating
A group of 40 people participated in this work and it is that they indicate that the water from the canal is important for agricultural production and therefore for the economy of local families.
