Sports: Mohali to host India’s opening T20I against Australia, Delhi gets last ODI vs South Africa

While India will play six T20 International games against Australia and South Africa, which will act as a dress practice for the T20 World Cup Down Under, a different group will play three 50-over games against the Proteas, with Shikhar Dhawan as the commander.

Mohali and Delhi are among nine Indian urban communities that will have consecutive white-ball matches against Australia and South Africa, separately, beginning 20 September, BCCI secretary Jay Shah said on Wednesday.

While India will play six T20 International games against Australia and South Africa, which will act as a dress practice for the T20 World Cup Down Under, a different group will play three 50-over games against the Proteas, with Shikhar Dhawan as the commander.

Mohali will have the principal T20I against Australia (20 September) with Nagpur (23 September) and Hyderabad (25 September) sorting out the second and third separately.

The home series against South Africa will start in Thiruvananthapuram on 28 September.

The second T20I will be played on 2 October followed by the keep going game at Indore on 4 October.

The activity will move to Lucknow on 6 October where the ODI series will start off. Ranchi and Delhi will have the second and third ODI, separately, on 9 and 11 October, however the series will not have any World Cup-bound players.
