The Washington Post revealed that a man was shot in the leg and a lady was shot toward the back, with wounds not said to be dangerous, refering to the police. A ball game that had been in progress between the Washington Nationals and the San Diego Padres was suspended because of the shooting.
Play is relied upon to continue on Sunday, trailed by the routinely booked game.
